In Praise of Girlfriends

I wrote an essay this week for the website WOWoWOW.com

it says it all so rather than reprint it here, I'll post a link........

Also- the May issue of  Ladies Home Journal is featuring an excerpt from my new book.  I'll be on Good Morning America on Monday and the book is out Tuesday, April 21.  This is like giving birth.

Enjoy the blog!

Hi Lee,
I work for CaringBridge and was pleasantly surprised to see us mentioned in your article in Ladies Home Journal. Great article, can't wait to see the book!

Thanks,

Melissa

I think the world of what you guys do-- please keep it up. the Caregiving is an under-appreciated hero. And you've made all of our lives easier with what you do.

Hi, interesting post. I have been pondering this issue,so thanks for posting. I'll definitely be coming back to your blog.

Hi,

I recently suffered a severely broken leg in a car accident in Africa while working for WFP. After a few weeks in the hospital and 4 surgeries, I flew home to the US for a few more surgeries.

When I read your article in the Ladies Home Journal I finally felt understood. I spent months gritting my teeth while well-intentioned friends stared at me with their sympathy face or told me how lucky I was (do you feel lucky every day you aren't hit by a car?).

I hope that everyone reads your article and takes it to heart!
